Submillimeter CO Line Emission from Orion
Images of an 8 square minute region around the Orion KL source have been made in the J = 7 − 6 (806 GHz) and J = 4 − 3 (461 GHz) lines of CO with angular resolutions of 13′′ and 18′′. These data were taken employing on-the-fly mapping and position switching techniques. Our J = 7−6 data set is the largest image of Orion with the highest sensitivity and resolution obtained so far in this line. Mo...
متن کاملORION: from on-line interaction to off-line delegation
This paper introduces orion, a conversational system that performs off-line tasks and initiates later contact with a user at a pre-negotiated time. Orion has two major episodes of activity: the enrollment of new tasks and the execution of pending tasks. The task manager periodically checks the pending tasks and updates their status, sending off requests to other servers for information and poss...

متن کامل6 A photoionized Herbig - Haro object in the Orion nebula
The spectra of Herbig Haro objects are usually characteristic of ionization and excitation in shock-heated gas, whether an internal shock in an unsteady outflow or a bow shock interface with the interstellar medium. We examine the eastern-most shock – the leading optically visible shock – of a Herbig Haro outflow (HH 529) seen projected on the face of the Orion Nebula, using deep optical echell...
متن کاملAPEX 1 mm line survey of the Orion Bar
Context. Unbiased molecular line surveys are a powerful tool for analyzing the physical and chemical parameters of astronomical objects and are the only means for obtaining a complete view of the molecular inventory for a given source. The present work stands for the first such investigation of a photon-dominated region. Aims. The first results of an ongoing millimeter-wave survey obtained towa...
